About Sutton Highfields Lawn Tennis Club

We are a small, friendly tennis club in Sutton, Surrey, open to players of all ages and abilities. Our main emphasis is on "social" tennis rather than on fiercely competitive matches!

2008 was the centenary year for the club and also for the local Highfields Housing Estate. To mark the occassion a centenary BBQ was held on 29-Jun-2008 together with the Highfields Residents' Association. This turned out to be a very successful, enjoyable and memorable event. We look forward therefore to the next major milestone!

Our club originally had six grass courts but these have been converted over the years and we now have four all weather courts. We also have a small clubhouse that can be hired for private functions, children's parties, etc.

The entire ground area is surrounded by a tall Laurel hedge making it very secluded and attractive. Indeed it is a veritable "oasis" in the middle of Sutton!

We are members of the Surrey County Lawn Tennis Association, accordingly we receive a small allocation of tickets each year for the Wimbledon tennis championship. Club members wishing to purchase these tickets are entered into a draw to determine the winning entrants.
